have you ever been in the right place at the right time? every morning when i wake up, i thank God and then i tell Him to use me for any mission... i tell him i will go anywhere, do anything He wants me to do and ask Him to just give me the wisdom to see who needs Him... the key is to be willing to follow His will... so yesterday, i went to Celebrate Recovery ( a Christ centered twelve step program for hurts, habits, and hang-ups), another ministry i serve at... i was at the door chatting with one of the regulars when jeannine suddenly comes in and says, "michelle, i have to pick this woman up, will you go with me?" i hesitated for maybe a second and said, "yeah, sure"... so out the door we went and as we're getting in her car, i'm like what's going on? she then tells me the story of how this woman called the pharmacy where she works to ask about a prescription (jeannine is a pharmacist) and starts crying and saying she wants to die... very random... jeannine wasn't even there at the time... her co-worker asked the woman if she could give jeannine her number and the woman said yes... so they strike up a phone friendship... jeannine ministers to her and helps her to decide not to end her life and prays for her and with her and she ends up accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior! they never met in person! some time later, jeannine said lisa dropped off the radar... she called her over and over for weeks to see how she was and the phone just got cut off... fast forward to yesterday... lisa called out of the blue and said she was at broward general hospital and had nowhere to go... it turns out she went to ohio to visit family and got into a horrible car accident and spent 6 weeks in the trauma unit... she had no money and people chipped in to get her home and when she called her ex-husband, who she was still living with, he refused to get her and let her come home... she has a 6 year old and a 14 year old... he cut her off from them... it's all terribly sad... it made me cry... anyway, we prayed and put her in the car and brought her back with us to CR and gave her love and encouragement and food and more prayer and worship... and i said we can NOT let this woman go to a homeless shelter in this condition, broken neck, shattered collar bone... so between seeking the advice of the leader of CR and each other and another girl we serve with, we put lisa up in a motel and got her supplies and we will take care of her somehow with God's help, day by day... Our God is good... all the time... and i know He is working behind the scenes to fix this... He didn't save her life to destroy it now... and the best thing is helping her to see that and seeing that she knows it too... :)
