thursday
answered prayers... my younger boy gave his life to Christ back in october... since then he hasn't had any earth shattering changes... just tiny little things i notice about him... he still mostly loves the things of this world, which is ok... God has a plan for his life just like He has a plan for all of our lives... so after the easter service he told me he still has a really hard time believing it's all true and he doesn't think he's changed that much... i told him to look back to where he was a year ago... he didn't even want to step foot into a church and now he goes with me every week... that's a pretty big change in my opinion and he agreed... i asked him if he still wants to believe and he said yes and i said that was a pretty big change too... i told him to pray for faith and he as of sunday he is now willing to read the Bible with me... another really big change in my opinion... so last night we went to church and we always get there ridiculously early because the traffic in south florida during rush hour is BAD... so we end up being there for 3 hours because we're ridiculously early and then the service is about 90 minutes long and till we get out to the car to leave, three hours have gone by... so we're on cypress creek road after church and he asks me, "did you see the white guy with dredlocks?" i said, "no, why?" he said, "when we got TO church, i asked God if He would prove He is real by showing me a white person with dredlocks" i looked at him and asked if he was kidding and tried to read his expression and he told me he was totally serious... i was blown away... i asked him how it made him feel... he said he got chills and was totally shocked because he saw this guy just at the last second as we LEFT the building... i asked him if it helped him to have more faith and to believe more and he said yes! and then i told him God didn't just answer his prayer, but mine too because i've been praying for God to give him more faith too...
i am completely blown away how God would step in and honor such a tiny, childlike request to help build the faith of a boy... and that this boy would ask such a tiny childlike thing of God! He is sooo amazing! and for those of you who are not believers and thinking this was just a coincidence, think about this... the service we go to on wednesday nights has at least 1000 people in attendance and the odds of us being in that particular spot at that particular time are... well i don't know what they are, but i can tell you i don't believe in coincidence anymore... that was orchestrated by God because it gives Him the glory! He is an AWESOME God!!!
Psalm 65:5
You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds,O God our savior.
