we're back!

greetings! we just got our power back today and the internet this evening... i got great hurricane video i will be hopefully posting at a later date and this one was really intense... i'm happy to report we are fine and suffered no damage or loss except for power, which went out monday morning... it was a little hairy... we had no phone for over 24 hours which sucked because you know you want to call your friends and loved ones to say you are okay... went back to work on tuesday and it was business as usual by wednesday... gas is a huge problem... very long lines... if i had known the power was going to come back on today i wouldn't have taken that cold shower this morning :eek... the resilience of this place is amazing... on monday there were 3.2 million people without power and now the number is down to 2 million... they are making amazing progress! i really love it here!

we've learned a couple of things in the wake of this hurricane... i should have done the laundry on sunday... i should have bought a lot more charcoal... i need camping lanterns... and a camping stove... and i found out about a lipstick i really want to buy...

things i did right... i bought the grill and charcoal and cooler and i got gas on the day before the hurricane hit...
