so i set off really early this morning to find gas... the first station was out and so was the second and then i got in line for the third... and waited... and waited... and waited some more... 2 hours later i finally got gas... not bad considering 3 days ago the wait was 5 or 6 hours and you didn't necessarily even get any gas... that is what life for me is like right now in south florida... small inconveniences...

i spoke to my friend laura who i worked with at holy cross in ft lauderdale and her situation was far worse than mine... the hospital still has no power or running water... i haven't heard any news about it on the radio, but i imagine they must have had to evacuate the patients... no running water is more of a problem than no electricity, besides, the back up generator was working so they have some power... she lives on the fourth floor of her building and has no power or water and was having to haul buckets of water from the pool up four flights of stairs just to flush the toilet... and she was all alone... i wish i would have known cuz she could have at least satyed with us and had company... she packed it in on thursday and went over to ft myers to stay with her parents... interestingly, that side of the state has hardly any damage... wtf? it hit there first...

after gas i finally got to go to the mall and get the new lipstick i've been coveting... it is the same shad i always wear, but it's the long wearing kind that doesn't come off unless you take a sandblaster to it :) anyway... life isn't too bad at all...
