chicago part three

090207

it's hard to be around all the people in the same house in the morning when you are used to being alone in the morning... but after we get going it gets better... they are wonderful people and i really love them...

today is breakfast at Salvation Army, church at Willowcreek and looking at chicago... after that? Lord, use me as You see fit!

this is what God said when i asked Him for encouragement this morning:

Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don't know if profit will come from one activity or another - or maybe both. - Ecclesiastes 11:6

A lovely broken Vietnam vet tells me his whole life story and how he was born again in 1998, survived 4 years in vietnam as a sniper and demolition expert (he was 16 when he got sent to vietnam), married and divorced, in a wheelchair for 30 years from an injury in vietnam. One day his chair fell over and he got up and picked up his chair and it was a miracle and he hasn't used it since! He takes medicine to stop the flashbacks and lives in a nursing home. He has 3 children and loves the movies and TV. I met him at Inspiration Cafe and when i walked away from the 2 hour conversation, an employee tells me that the Vietnam vet has told me more about his life in 2 hours than he has told anyone ever before. I couldn't believe it... this is how God wants us to love people... to sit down and talk and listen... praise God!

church at willowcreek was awesome... the message was about loving people... it's as if they knew we were in town and prepared the message just for us... essentially, it's not about loving more the people we already love, it's about loving better the people we don't already
love...

what a day! what an honor to love the people better and to love God more!
