i got my flute yesterday! i'm so excited because i'm really hoping to join the worship team... my kids asked me if i remembered how to play and if i remembered how to read music... yes and yes... i did wonder for a minute if i still had that gift because i haven't actually had a flute in well over 15 years... but i did play that thing for a solid 10 years before losing interest... can i play like ian anderson? sh'i wish! i play like me and the Lord was wonderful enough to give me 2 whole original songs! now before you go getting all skeptical on me and telling me i just have that talent on my own, i can firmly tell you that i have never ever in my life been able to write a song... i tried... i couldn't even grasp the concept of how it happens... i tried... i could always write poetry when i was inspired... i tried to write music, but everything i tried came out like boring scales and stuff... i just couldn't do it... this is definitely a gift from God! i love Him so much! so i will be busy practicing and honing my skills again after all these years... who would have ever thought? not me...
