ghosts?

i got saved 6 months ago and dove into the Bible to understand, well, EVERYTHING...

when i was 16, my dad died and i swear he stayed around for a year after his death...there were sounds, things mysteriously moving around and even a sighting... how do i explain it? how do i reconcile it? there are sightings of people in the bible after they died, for example Samuel was seen in spririt by King Saul... the bible doesn't say, to my knowledge, there is no such thing as ghosts... in fact, it says not to seek after them or try to call them through mediums, which in my mind is actually saying they DO exist...

some years ago, i got a tract from some religious group, the Jehovah's witnesses or the Mormons, both groups of whom i know now mistakenly think they are Christian... the tract basically stated that a spirit of your loved one is actually manifested by the devil... i was so upset after i read that tract i cried... this was years after my dad died and i was totally unnerved...

so what should i conclude? i'm still not sure... i do believe that the spirit of my dad couldn't have been something conjured up by satan at that time because i wasn't actively trying to call on the dead... i hope it was God's way of bringing me comfort and solace by leaving a small trace of his spirit behind to ease the severe sting of his loss... like everything else in this thing we call life, it will remain a mystery until the day i die and i meet the Lord and can ask Him what it all meant... until then...

Hebrews 11:1 (New King James Version)

By Faith We Understand
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Good post, you are correct the JW's are a false cult.To keep it simple, the central core dogma of Jehovah's Witnesses, the reason they came into existence 110 years ago was to proclaim Jesus second coming in the year 1914.

When their 'prophecy' {derived from the William Miller movement of 1844} failed, they went on to say that Jesus came "invisibly".Yes,it's the 'emperor's new clothes' all over again.
