i was watching 'josh bernstein: digging for the truth" on the history channel the other day and the show was specifically searching for the cities of sodom and gomorah... you may or may not know that these are the cities in Genesis that get utterly destroyed by God with fire and brimstone... so i being silly and not one for looking things up in the dictionary or encyclopedia, always thought brimstone was mythical or like lava or some other fiery substance... well during this program, josh speaks to all kinds of archeologists and paleobotanists and smart people who know things about stuff and they're out in the desert around the dead sea and this dude says to josh,"see this white, chalky, clay like substance here in the ground?" you guessed it... brimstone! and they dug a bunch up and piled it all together and lit it with a match and it burned like charcoal, only better because the flame never went away... it's the coolest thing i've seen in a long time and makes me want to dance even it would totally be handy on "survivor"... so am i the only one in the world who didn't know brimstone was real?
